But.if this were true, since the so called tumor would be there 24/7/365 until removed, then logically the change in stool shape would ALWAYS be thin, since the tumor is compressing it. You can picture how the tumor would, in their analysis, block a portion of the colon, making the stool more compact, thin, etc. Back in the day, the "logic" for making the connection between narrow stool and CC was the belief that the stool's shape is changed due to the presence of the tumor. That laziness led to the fact that even to this day, you'll find medical publications that spout that fallacy.Īlso, think of this logically. As the years passed, despite dispelling this theory, most authors of new reports on the subject of CC simply copied old information rather than do the research on more current and accurate medical information. The author explained that about 75-100 years ago, that theory surfaced and made its way into medical text books. Narrow stools as a sign of CC was debunked by a highly reputable medical facility many years ago. Is the bowel ultrasound a good exam? I read when they can see clearly the bowel, they can sometimes find even polyps and cancers. Is it possible? online i read they don't do that, but my stool has become more little and i'm less productive, something that never happened to me. Do i have to worry?Īlso i ate a lot of raw carrots the last 3 days and it looks like they are giving me constipation. Lately i'm having narrow stools, ribbon like stools, sometimes in small pieces and yes, sometimes normal. I'm always scared of what i'll eat, of how my stool will look like, i'm convinced (because the gastro never confirmed it) i have IBS (or maybe is just stress), so i'm always trying to change my diet. I've been having colon cancer fear since months now, i went to a gastro who told me i'm fine after a bowel ultrasound (his words were "your bowel looks perfect"), i've had blood test (no anemy, everything fine), but still my anxiety has a big impact on me. I've been reading studies saying narrow stools are not related to colon cancer ( ) but i really don't know what to believe. Narrow, thin stools.are they a case of concern? (translated in the hypocondriac vocabulary : am i dying?)
